My name is Anisa Hagi-Mohamed - a Somali-American educator, artist, community leader, and mother based in Minnesota. I’m the creator of the Shaykha Channel (2006), that has over 120,000 subscribes, 85+ million views and a beautiful, vibrant, diverse community that has been watching, commenting and growing with me for 18 years. Through my journey, I earned three degrees, two in linguistics and I've also been blessed with having a family. After I shifted from the classroom in my professional life, I turned towards what I know best - content creation and coming up with innovative ideas to help and heal people. I'm the author of My Diasporic Diary (2018), a reflective journal for diaspora communities everywhere. I'm also the creator of Kalsooni, the first ever deck of bilingual Somali-English affirmation cards. In my business, I aim to represent and uplift as many communities, cultures and languages through my work - whether that be through art, writing, poetry, products or services.
